THE LOWDOWN — THE FULL HISTORY
THE HAT-TRICK
Against Norway, Ousmane Dembélé scored three times in the first 32 minutes (7', 20', 32'). It was the second-fastest hat-trick in World Cup history and the first first-half World Cup hat-trick since Oleg Salenko in 1994. He was the only Ballon d'Or winner on the pitch.
THE DEPTH
Kylian Mbappé is captain and won the World Cup at 19. Michael Olise led the tournament in assists. Désiré Doué, 21, scored, while Barcola, Cherki, Thuram and Mateta started on the bench.
THE GROUP
France won all three games to top Group I, only the second time in their history, and were the bookmakers' favourites.
THE QUESTION
Who is France's best player: Mbappé, Dembélé or Olise?
